Production habits, consumption habits and disposal habits are having negative effects on our planet, e.g. when thinking about the tons of plastic in the ocean causing harm to the marine ecosystems and wildlife. These problems are having knock-on effects in nearly every area of our lives, including problems for the economy, the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breath and most importantly, our happiness levels.
Humans are consuming more resources than the earth can regenerate, this leads to an enormous ecological footprint. At the earth overshoot day 2017 we were basically consuming 1.5 of the earth's available resources. The concept of zero waste is to reduce what we need, reuse as much as we can and try to recycle and compost as little as we can.
Carrie and Joe, the founders of THE BULK HOUSE, the first zero-waste store in mainland China, will explain the concepts of zero waste as well as minimalism in detail and will show the participants, how to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle with only simple changes.
They will illustrate their journey to the zero waste concept so the attendees are able to learn, which tips and tricks they can apply to their own daily life to minimize waste and maximize happiness.
Come along to hear their talk "How To Live A Zero Waste Lifestyle".
